Yesterday morning, just as I stepped out on the back deck, I spotted our first hummingbird of the season. I didn’t have anything resembling a camera on me, so the picture here is actually one from an earlier year. The two feeders in use this year hand on the corner of the deck, where I can usually view them easily from a chair on the living room.
Our feeders are new this year, as the ones from last year got too funky looking to re-use, and realistically, I’d rather start fresh each year. If I could actually find a better made glass feeder, I would happily switch but all the ones I found that looked good seemed to be prone to leaking heavily. Since they all tend to leak at times, why not save money and just use the cheap ones?
