Early this spring, hubby and I were standing on the deck and thought how nice it would be to have somewhere to sit, besides the deck steps. We do have chairs that we could set out, but they’re not the type to stand up well to being out in the weather all the time.
I just wanted something simple with a top and sturdy legs, so hubby suggested that we use 2×12’s, which, as it turns out, were only available locally in pressure-treated wood. Ultimately we’ll paint the pair of benches in a flat black to match our deck table, but for now, they’re fine.
